Community Groups are the discipleship arms of the body of River Point. Small groups are a vital part of our community, providing an environment where people can grow spiritually and build relationship with others. Each person benefits from the encouragement and experience of group members regardless where you are on your spiritual journey.
A community group has 6 - 10 people who meet weekly in someone's home Each group establishes its own agenda, meeting day, study, and focus. Community groups are like people - wonderfully unique! Some groups have a common thread ( singles, couples, retired, men, women, tec.) - and some do not. Each group chooses their study. Some groups study the Bible, while others choose a topical study based on Biblical truths to be applied to their lives.
A nurturing community is essential for our spiritual growth! Community Groups bring our faith back into the arena of active and vibrant particiapation, rather than being "religious spectators." Community Groups provide a setting in which strongholds (addictions, relationship issues, and the like) are demolished through prayer, friendships are created through fellowship, and the Bible is broken down into understandable truths that we can apply to our daily lives. In Community Groups, members minister to each other, discover and use their spiritual gifts, and are discipled in the teachings of Christ. In Community Groups lives are changed as unchurched people watch a loving and compassionate community in action!
