MISSION:
To collect “new” toys for the Jesus Christmas Shop
WHEN: From now until December 3, 2007
WHERE: There is a drop off area in the River Point foyer (by the Christmas
tree)
PURPOSE: Partner with Habersham County Families for our shop on December 8th
MINISTRY OUTREACH: This is a ministry of several churches for 2007,
reaching out to our neighbors who need God’s help in providing toys for
their children for Christmas. We welcome our friends from Alto CH Church and Shady Grove...your partnership has been a true blessing! The following are items that are still greatly needed
to minister to over 120 families and 300 children:
- New toys for children of all ages
- Cash Donations
- New hats, gloves, scarves, blankets
- Small Stocking stuffers (ie, lip balm, small toys or balls, stickers, etc.)
- Bags of individually wrapped candy (we need almost 400 pounds)
- Batteries sizes of all sorts (C and D and AA AAA 9V)
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY: 2003 was our first Jesus Christmas Shop and we helped approximately 40 families and over 100 children. We had two shops; one for the adults to buy gifts for their children and the other for children to buy gifts for their parents. We bought and stuffed 119 stockings and wrapped gifts and served refreshments. We sold our gifts for a minimum to let parents retain their dignity and feel like they are not just getting a handout. Parents told us last year that this really meant a lot to them. The names of the shoppers are received from school counselors and other agencies and they are sent individual invitations. This is NOT open to the public.
Please get into the Christmas spirit early and donate so that we may help
even more children this year. We will gladly accept money donations and do
